Visualization Tips: 5 Steps to Manifest Your Goals

Visualization is an extremely powerful technique for manifesting your desires. It's something you do for 15 minutes or so everyday, maybe in the morning, lunch break or whenever you have a short amount of time for yourself.

Just like anything, it gets more comfortable and easier with practice. But before we get into the process, let's first talk a little about preparation.

The very first thing you need to do before anything else is to write down your goals. Be specific.

For example, if you want to lose belly fat, then write down your desired waist measurement or dress size. Having a clear picture in your mind helps, too. So maybe you're picturing yourself smiling at the loosely fitting jeans in front of the mirror.

This is a note-to-self, so keep it with you always. A note app in your smartphone works well, too.

Here are 5 easy steps for visualization:


1. Get into a comfortable and relaxed state.

You've got to be relaxed to make this work and the more relaxed you are -- the better. This is a form of meditation.

Allow your entire body to go limp. Simply release any tension as you relax your muscles.

Start at the top of your head and work your way down your body, consciously relaxing every area and letting all tension fall away.

2. Calm your mind.

It is possible to relax physically and still have your mind running at 100 mph. But the state you want to achieve is the exact opposite.

You need to free yourself from the continuous and random flow of thoughts. The first time you try this, you'll find your mind jumping from one thought to the next, without any reason or logic.

Perhaps because you're simply not used to letting go. But freeing yourself from your internal dialogue is crucial for visualization.

3. Focus on your breathing.

Take long, slow, deep breaths without straining. Keep it easy and peaceful.

Relax more and more each breath. By concentrating on your breathing, you help control your mind's tendency to think about other things.

Focusing on your breathing alone occupies the mind while relaxing the body, which is ideal for visualization.

4. Attain a meditative state of mind and body.

Allow yourself to sink deeper and deeper into a calm and peaceful place. What you want is peace of mind and comforting tranquility where no resistance exists.

Once you've found it, you'll know you've discovered heaven on earth.

5. Picture yourself accomplishing your goals.

Now that you've attained a wonderful state of complete relaxation, simply project images of what you want to accomplish on the screen of your mind. Use your written goals and picture yourself obtaining them.

As the images are 'paintings' of you, add details as necessary. Let's say for example, in losing belly fat, instead of just loosely fitting in your jeans, you're also now wearing a two-piece bikini in Hawaii feeling sexy.

Choose something specific and be definite about your ability to manifest it. Involve as many of the senses as you can.

So for example again, if you desire to lose belly fat, then you'll have to tighten your stomach a little like when you're doing sit ups. You must feel at one with your desire.

Practice these steps for 15 minutes or so daily and you will have applied the secret of visualization to manifest what you want. And have fun with this.
